Ashley Wulkan CHN NNCP

Clinical Nutritionist + Herbalist

I am a Certified Holistic Nutritionist with the Canadian Association of Natural Nutrition Professionals. After graduating with diplomas in Applied Nutrition, Nutrition Management and Western Herbalism, I have continued my education to specialize in gastrointestinal health and have been working with clients who struggle with IBS, IBD, Celiac, GERD, SIBO, and other gut disorders since 2015.

My passion for this work comes from my belief in the healing power of nature and passion for natural medicine. My belief comes from my own personal experience of healing chronic digestive, hormonal and nervous system imbalances using natural healing modalities and modern functional medicine.  There is light at the end of the tunnel, I'm here to walk you to it.

My Healing Philosophy

Working in natural healthcare for nearly a decade has allowed me to build out the pillars I believe are most integral to the healing journey. My philosophy includes the following:

1. Everything Is Connected

Your body is an ecosystem where every element plays a role in homeostasis. Your gut issues, your mental health, your energy levels, your hormones all connect into each other and nothing exists in a vacuum.

2. What Works Well Doesn't Necessarily Work Quickly

Healing is a journey and research shows that the gut lining and microbiome take months to years to reconstruct. Quick fixes don't yield long-term health, we have to play the long game.

3. Health Does Not Come From a Pill

Replacing pharmaceutical medications with herbs and supplements is not the goal. Building robust health means that your body can do most of what it needs to alone. My goal is to use supplements only as needed for as short a period of time as possible.

4. Data Drives Results

The more we know about what is going on, the better informed we will be on what steps to take next. Bloodwork, functional labs, and thorough assessment inform protocols. No cookie-cutter one-size-fits-all plans here.

5. Resilience Is The Goal

We are not chasing perfection, we are chasing resilience. There will always be ups and downs. Healing is not linear. Balance is a verb.
