Instant Turmeric Latte Mix Recipe

I’m going to let you in on a really embarrassing secret…

… I hate turmeric. Like, so much.

I know, it’s unacceptable, I’m a nutritionist.

But guys, it tastes like mothballs and mustard, and it stains the crap out of every single nice thing that I own.

But turmeric is also packed with an absolute TON of benefits from general anti-inflammatory superpowers to liver health and honestly the list goes on and on. See? I am a nutritionist.

However, this blog post isn’t about sharing the science of turmeric because I feel like that’s been done a billion times. (If you want me to share science-based turmeric info, let me know in the comments though!)

No, today I’m going to let you in on the secret to how I started eating turmeric every day and actually LOVING it. I tried a million golden milk recipes and hated them all until I has a brainwave…

… what if I just added turmeric to my usual chai spice latte mix and drank it like that?

Boom. Game = changed.

Now, I only just got a milk frother and it’s the thing I have owned for the least amount of time that I already can’t live without. I make this latte in my milk frother, it takes literally 2 minutes, makes no dishes, doesn’t stain anything (as long as I am very careful not to spill) and makes the perfect sweet, creamy afternoon cuppa.

I’m a changed woman, drinking turmeric lattes like it’s my job!

So, here’s the deal… you only need 5 ingredients to make the mix and an additional 2 ingredients to make the latte. Instant Turmeric Latte Mix

Ingredients

4 tablespoons ground turmeric
3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons ground ginger
3 teaspoons ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions

Add all ingredients to a small mason jar and shake them up until everything is mixed well!

To Make a Latte

Add 1 rounded teaspoon of the mix to 1 cup plant-based milk of choice (it’s the best with oat milk, trust me!) and 1/2-1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Either combine everything in your milk frother and turn it on or combine in a small saucepan and heat it up, whisking until it’s steamy.
