My name is Ashley and I'm totally obsessed with nutritional science. But also pizza and cereal.

I am a Holistic Nutritionist based in the City of Toronto (but with clients all over the world). My office is located at Higher Health, Toronto's boutique Naturopathic Centre and IV Lounge. As the Higher Health team Nutritionist, I work alongside Naturopathic Doctors to provide nutrition counselling, meal planning, supplement protocols and lifestyle advice to clients. 

Alongside my nutrition practice I work with That Clean Life, a meal planning platform for wellness professionals and individuals that makes eating healthy simple and fun. My contributions include recipe development, meal plan creation, blog writing and engaging with our amazing community of clean eaters.

I teach my clients to get to know their own bodies instead of just doing what everyone else tells them to. As a Holistic Nutritionist, my nutritional recommendations come from a deep respect for biochemical individuality. Basically that means that I truly believe that while one person might feel amazing on a fat-fuelled ketogenic diet, another might thrive on a plant-based vegan diet. 

I am not the Judge Judy of food and it's not my place to decide what's right for everyone. 

While I'm a self-confessed nutrition nerd promoting better living through biology, I know that most people want to just eat and not think to hard about it. I'm a millennial and I get what it's like to be busy (hello, full-time job and a side hustle), broke (because you spent it all on cold-pressed juice), and bored of the 5 healthy meals you actually know how to make.

Because I have a background in both nutritional science as well as culinary arts, I take a no-BS approach to nutrition. Our great-grandmothers didn't  constantly obsess over calories, force-feed themselves swamp water smoothies, or live on $60 powders from the health food store and neither should we.
